Wigtown Festival Company

As well as producing a vibrant annual international book festival, developing the literary and cultural wealth of Scotland’s National Book Town and its region, WFC is a literary hub for Dumfries and Galloway and Scotland. It generates and supports a year-round programme of literature development activity across Dumfries & Galloway that allows writers and readers to flourish; offers opportunities for talented writers to develop their skills and create new work; and encourages more people, and a greater diversity of people, to engage in reading and writing.

WFC is committed to supporting the Gaelic and Scots languages and is in the process of developing a strategy to enrich children’s and young people’s experiences of the arts, and in particular, literature.
