SUMMARY:Fringe by the Sea
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2008\, Fringe by the Sea is a not-for-profit\, 10-day multi-arts festival in North Berwick. From its roots as a small community event\, it has grown into one of Scotland’s most celebrated festivals\, contributing over £11 million to the local economy. \nAt its core\, Fringe by the Sea is driven by values of creativity\, inclusivity and collaboration. We believe the arts can unite people\, helping bridge gaps and address issues like isolation and rural deprivation. While we showcase international acts\, the heart of the festival remains local\, ensuring everyone has a space to create and connect.

SUMMARY:Bute Noir
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the home of Bute Noir\, our annual crime-writing festival held on the Isle of Bute. \nBute Noir came together relatively quickly after a chance meeting with crime author Craig Robertson in 2015. Several e-mails later and we had managed to pull together what we hoped would be the first of many crime festivals on the Isle of Bute. Held over two days at three venues and with 11 authors\, we had a back to back schedule to suit fans of all crime fiction. We are only 90 minutes from Glasgow by rail and sea\, there is nothing stopping YOU from enjoying a trip Doon The Watter to join us in Rothesay this August!
