A collective voice for literature and languages in Scotland

Training: Show Me The Money – 27 March 2018

Funding our creative literary organisations is becoming increasingly challenging. We’ve all been encouraged to consider alternative sources of income that can minimise the impact of funding cuts and create more stability in delivering our services.

Join us for an idea sparking session that will explore a variety of ways you could generate income and raise the profile of your project, service, or organisation. This event is open to the membership of Literature Alliance Scotland only.

Leading the information and discussion session will be Anne Hughes, of Ignite consultancy and Head of Fundraising with A&M Scotland (Achieve More). Anne has raised millions of pounds for a number of charities over her 20 years of working in this sector. She understands the challenges that organisations face when exploring funding options and will encourage you to open your mind and explore “outside the box” to consider what solutions might work for you.

Anne will give an overview of a wide range of funding options including applying to trusts, corporate sponsorship, events, fundraising and more.

She will share her own experiences, tips and strategies that have led her to raise money in all sorts of interesting ways while also raising awareness and profile of the organisation’s work.

You will be encouraged to work with other members to discuss the ideas and take away some options for further exploration.

As this is a first stage strategy, we will ask you to complete a survey after the session to help inform and develop further detailed workshops as part of our professional development programme.
