Comhairle nan Leabhraichean (The Gaelic Books Council)

Comhairle nan Leabhraichean (The Gaelic Books Council) was established in 1968. We are the lead organisation with responsibility for supporting Scottish Gaelic writers and publishers, and for raising the profile and reach of Scottish Gaelic books in Scotland and internationally. Our bookshop in Glasgow stocks a wide range of Gaelic and Gaelic-related books, and we provide commission and publication grants to support the creation of new titles. We provide training and development opportunities for writers at all stages of their careers, and our education and outreach work encourages people of all ages to enjoy reading and writing in Gaelic. Comhairle nan Leabhraichean is a registered charity (SC025026) and is supported by Creative Scotland and Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
