Welcoming Alice Gibson as our SGSAH intern for 2026

We are delighted to welcome Alice Gibson to the LAS team as our SGSAH doctoral intern for 2026. Alice is a PhD student at the University of St Andrews and during her internship will be supporting our Mapping The Sector research, sponsored by the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH).

Alice Gibson

Alice Gibson grew up in Glasgow, and completed an undergraduate degree in English at the University of St Andrews, followed by an MPhil in Scottish Literature at the University of Glasgow. Since 2020, she has been the Research Assistant for the Read Older Scots project, an initiative which seeks to reintroduce Older Scots (c.1475-1700) texts to the curriculum in Scottish schools. Her doctoral research focuses on readers in late-medieval Scotland, examining popular texts from this period in order to construct an understanding of the diverse audiences for whom these narratives were intended.

The Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH) are the world’s first national graduate school in the Arts and Humanities, home of Scotland’s AHRC Doctoral Landscape Award Hub. Working with their supporters in the arts, culture, creative and heritage sectors, they provide outstanding training opportunities for doctoral researchers in Scotland.
