LAS AGM 2025 & our new board of trustees

Posted on 29th July, 2025 in LAS, Members, News

The Literature Alliance Scotland AGM will be held online at 4pm on Wednesday 6 August. The Agenda, papers and Zoom link have been sent out to Members by email – please get in touch [email protected] if you haven’t received them.

Ahead of the AGM, we are delighted to re-introduce the refreshed Board of Trustees and to remind Members interested in joining as a Trustee to get in touch with our interim Chair, Mairi Kidd, for an informal discussion via [email protected]

LAS welcomes new trustees on a rolling basis throughout the year: there is no set deadline. Our Trustees are drawn from within our Membership of Organisations, and we aim for a representative spread of the broader sector LAS supports. Many of our trustees are also published writers and bring with them extensive experience as freelancers as well as from previous roles within the Literature sector in Scotland and further afield.

Our current Trustees are:

Interim Chair: Mairi Kidd, The Saltire Society

Treasurer: Alison Lang, Comhairle nan Leabhraichean / The Gaelic Books Council

Ray Anyasi, Society of Authors in Scotland Committee

Peter Burnett, Leamington Books

Philippa Cochrane, Scottish Book Trust

Vikki Reilly, Publishing Scotland

After the official business of the AGM is concluded on 6 August, our Transformation Manager, Viccy Adams, will give the Membership an overview of the LAS programme for 2025/6 and an update on our recent Writer Bursaries for work-in-progress.
